Lee Ann Genussa
Life’s beauty can be overshadowed by societal pressures and everyday responsibilities. We may often find ourselves bogged down by shame, judgment, and expectations. As a clinician, my aim is to create an empathetic, non-judgemental environment for you to explore and navigate your own unique challenges and goals.
I have experience working with folks who struggle with depression, anxiety, suicidality, autism and ADHD, complex trauma, gender and sexuality issues, as well as race-related stress and trauma. I received my Master’s Degree in Social Work from Columbia University and am a licensed therapist in New York. My background in social justice and integrative neuroscience has aided me in developing a unique lens through which we can understand your needs. My therapeutic approach encompasses a variety of evidence supported modalities including Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), motivational interviewing, Mindfulness-based Stress Reduction (MBSR), and Solution Focused Therapy (SFT). Combining these modalities, I will provide a client centered environment that meets you where you’re at while also challenging you to grow in an affirming way.
By forming a therapeutic alliance, we can collaborate in order to manage challenges, explore vulnerabilities, and work toward your goals. Together, we will help you to enjoy life’s beauty.
