If you woke up tomorrow morning and all of your problems were solved, what is the first thing you would notice? How do you feel?  What do you see?  What is the first thing others will notice about you? My specialty is finding the root of the problem, exposing it to the sunlight, and helping it move from where it has been stuck to create room for growth and healing. The most important factor in determining your success with therapy is your relationship with your therapist. Developing trust in an open and non-judgmental conversation is my priority in the first sessions.

I earned my Master’s Degree in Mental Health Counseling from SUNY Oswego. Since completing my education, I have provided therapy to children, adults, couples, and groups utilizing cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavior therapy, person-centered therapy, internal family systems, attachment theory, acceptance and commitment therapy, and rational emotive behavior therapy based on an individual’s needs. I have used a combination of styles to treat anxiety, depression, addiction, PTSD and CPTSD, grief, life transitions such as moving away from home for the first time, divorce and single parenthood, life changing health diagnosis, job loss, trauma, setting boundaries at work and at home, and relationship conflicts including a specialization in anger management.

My philosophy with therapy is future-focused. Creating solutions to break cycles, promoting healing, and setting goals to achieve your version of happy. Each person has had their journey on their way to therapy; therefore, each person deserves an individualized approach to healing. Creating a trusting therapeutic relationship is the first step. I am here to help decrease isolation, increase connections with friends and family, and shine a light on the monsters that may be hiding in the dark.  When you are ready to turn the light on, I am here.
