Christine Rucker

MSW, LMSW

I see myself as a collaborator to help you build the life you want. My goal is to help you better understand who you are, help you identify your strengths, and provide you with the tools you need to help you achieve your goals.

I received my MSW at Virginia Commonwealth University. I obtained clinical training focusing on depression, bipolar disorder, anxiety, PTSD, and ADHD working with young adults up to middle-aged adults. I have +7 years of experience providing therapeutic art sessions to adults in recreational and institutional settings. Additionally, I have experience working with difficulties such as low self-esteem, career and life changes, cross-cultural issues, trauma, and relationship difficulties.

My approach builds on your strengths and the things that are working in your life and combines them with evidence-based approaches. I primarily use Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). You can take this journey individually, or we can welcome important people in your life such as family and friends.

I am passionate about working with couples on communication issues. I provide couples counseling primarily using The Developmental Model for Couples Counseling. This is supplemented with resources from the Gottman Institute, Prepare-Enrich, and Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) for Couples.

I look forward to working together on your vision for your life!
